Accessibility To Firearm (ATF)

DURATION: 3 Hours

Class Description

This class is designed around the reality that having a firearm in your proximity is NOT the same thing as having access to your firearm. The reality of the situation is this, if you can’t get to your firearm, you don’t have a firearm. The goal for this class is for students to discover more efficient methods of accessing their firearms for THEMSELVES, from the varying positions we find ourselves in on a daily basis.

Class Significance

You don’t know what you don’t know. Too often individuals believe that because they are capable of shooting small groups on paper at distance, or because they are able to pass a basic state qualifier once a year, they are proficient with their firearm. Unfortunately, these shooting standards rarely reflect Defensive Firearm Standards. This class is designed to help students efficiently and consistently access their firearms, reducing the amount of time it takes to put shot(s) on their target - a critical component to Defensive Firearm Training.

Primary Focuses

  • The ability to access and draw your firearm EFFICIENTLY and CONSISTENTLY from varying positions and with varying layers of clothing under various conditions.

  • Time To First Shot (TTFS): A person’s ability to QUICKLY and CONSISTENTLY put shots on their target is equally as important as their ability to efficiently and consistently access and draw their firearms. Draw speed and TTFS are two separate disciplines.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Hearing & Eye Protection (Preferably electronic hearing protection)

  • One jacket, hoodie or vest.

  • Your Everyday Carry Firearm & Holster. (Duty rigs are permitted only for students that have professional occupations that require them to wear one.)

  • 200 Rounds of Ammunition
